Closing the conference

Dear friends,

Today we are officially closing the UNDP-EC electronic conference on
poverty and the environment.  We will, however, keep both the list and
the website active so that we can send you information about our
initiative as it progresses and share with you the issues papers and
reports that are produced.  

In addition, we invite you to continue to use the list to exchange ideas
as well as to alert others to interesting papers, articles, meetings,
and events that deal with issues related to poverty and the environment.

If you still have comments you would like to make, particularly in
response to the messages that your colleagues have posted thus far,
please feel free to send them directly to me at kristen.lewis@undp.org.

We would also appreciate any suggestions you may have for case material
that would be appropriate for use during our next two events, the
technical workshop and the Ministerial-level meeting.  We are eager for
examples of programmes that have successfully advanced multiple
objectives (such as poverty eradication, economic development and
environmental regeneration, for example).

In closing, all of us at UNDP and the EC would like to extend our
sincere thanks for your participation in this phase of our initiative on
poverty and the environment.  We very much look forward our continued
collaboration.
