Mr. Ngenge received his B.A. in History from Amherst College, a M.A. in Food and Resource Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University at College Station, Texas.  He has been the National Coordinator for the SDNP in Cameroon since the April of 1996.  At the time of his recruitment he was Sub-Director of Agronomie and Agro-Economic surveys in the Ministry of Agriculture.  He has wide experience in agricultural policy and planning; project planning; preparation; monitoring and evaluation; cooperative legislation and regulations; bio-resources development and conservation; ICTs.

Central African Republic
DOUNGOUBE, M. Gustave

Mr. Dougounbe  has a degree in forestry. He pioneered sustainable development activities in the Central African Republic by initiating one of the leading and most successful  environment preservation and development project in the country. Currently, he is  Director General of Environmental  Affairs  and National Coordinator for the  PRGIE in his country. Mr Doungoube is also in charge of the  environmental aspects of the SDNP. He holds national distinctions and is member of several professional associations. He has wide experience in participatory planning.

Mr. El Hadj Baba received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnical Institute of Tachkant (Ouzbekistan). Equatorial Guinea

Mr Abaga received his B.s. in Agricultural Economics and his M.A. in Economics from Western Illinois University, Illinois. He is currently Assistant Resident Representative of UNDP in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea. For many years he worked as National Economist in this UNDP country office. He graduated from the University of Guinea in 1972. He contributed to the preparation Guinea's partipation in the Rio Earth Summit and coordinated the formulation of the country's National Environement Plan of Action. He played a leading role in the creation of the NGO forum for  sustainable development. He worked as consultant for several development projects funded by the World Bank, UNDP, USAID, and the European Union. In September 1997, he coordinated the organization of a seminar  for the launching of Internet in Guinea . He also participated in the preparation of the ongoing SDNP feasibility study.

Chuck Lankester was trained in Forestry at the University of British Columbia .  After working in the private sector, he joined the Forestry Department of FAO.  He held various technical posts and also served as a consultant to the World Food Programme.  He joined UNDP in 1969 and became its Principal Technical Adviser in a broad range of environmental programmes.  From 1990 until May 1992 he served as Executive Agent for the Intergovernmental Mekong Committee based in Bangkok. He returned to UNDP Headquarters in May 1992 as Director of the Sustainable Development Networking Programme (SDNP).  He has published, lectured and broadcast on a range of environmental issues.

DANDJINOU, Pierre

Pierre Dandjinou joined SDNP as the African Regional Coordinator in January 1997. Before joining SDNP, he was the Head of the Information and Databank Department at Ciciba, an Internationl Center for Research an Documentation in Libreville (Gabon). Mr Dandjinou graduated at the Sorbonne University and the Conservatoire Nationale des Arts et Metiers in Paris (France). As an international Consultant in ICTs for 10 years, Pierre Dandjinou participated in many  conferences and workshops on the topic, conducted various studies for many organisations and has committed substantial papers on the use of information and communication technologies for development in Africa.

Ms. Hassanin has obtained her M.A. in Developmental Studies from the American University in cairo. LABELLE, Richard

Mr. Labelle was trained in biology and plant sciences at Queen's in Canada.  As a scientist at IDRC, in 1981, he set up an information service on agroforestry at the International Council for Research in Agroforesty (ICRAF) in Nairobi, Kenya, where he remained for 9 years.  Since 1990, Mr. Labelle has worked as an advisor on information sciences at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) in Winnipeg, Canada, and began working as a SDNP consultant in 1992.  He participated in the Earth Summit on matters related to information systems.  He has undertaken many consultancies for SDNP.

Ms. McVanne is the is a graduate of American University and the Howard University School of Law. A member of the District of Columbia, New York, and Supreme Court Bars, Roxanne currently serves as Senior Counselor for International Development in the Telecommunication Divison of the FCC's International Bureau, concentring on multilateral and development issues. She also serves as Special Advisor for African Affairs.

MOET, Joop

Mr. Moet graduated in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Wageningen, NL.
He started to work in rural development and small scale irrigation projects from 1985.
In 1997, he joined Catholic University of Mozambique to help in building up an Agricultural Faculty, that is planned to receive its first students in August 1998.

SITHOLE, E. Mandla

Mr. Sithole started his career in 1979 when he joined the Department of Post and Telecommunications (SA). In 1996 he moved to Union Head Office in Johannesburg as a Telcoms national organizer. During his involvement with the Union, he represented the labour movement on different fora including discussions which led to the finalization of the Telecommunications Act 1996, through National Telecommunication Forum. In March 1997 he joined the newly formed Universal Service Agency.
