UN China hosted by SDNP
SDNP/China arranged for UN China to get its own domain name through CNNIC, the certifying agency in China, and is now providing hosting facilities for the UN's website which has a wealth of information in both English and Chinese about all of the UN organizations and programmes in China. Lotus-China Ltd. Co. has donated a copy of its recent product, Lotus Domino to the Administrative Centre for China's Agenda 21, via SDNP/China. The product uses both Chinese and English platforms. Lotus-China also agreed to conduct an on-site training on how to use UNICODE system in setting up Lotus software.SDNP/China-GSSD Collaboration for Search Engine for Sustainable Development Resources
SDNP/China has an agreement with MIT Global Systems for Sustainable Development (GSSD) to set up a mirror site at ACCA21 in China to use MIT's newly developed system for knowledge-networking on sustainable development. Further work on GSSD is aimed at developing a multi language interface by MIT, and SDNP/China's role will to be to prepare a Chinese version of GSSD by offering opprotunities for Chinese context searchs. An auto-translation system will be incorporated into the Chinese version. China-GSSD will be the first search engine especially designed for sustainable development in China.METADATA Developments
A Chinese version of the GIS metadata standard (general part), approved by the State Information Centre and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has been in use in ACCA21 and in about 10 ministries in China.
